A printer that turns on is not necessarily ready to make good parts. We troubleshoot the machine as a complete system—hardware, motion, extrusion, material, slicing and calibration—to find the root cause instead of replacing parts at random.
What we repair
- Mechanical & hardware: hotends, extruders, belts, motion systems, wiring, sensors, fans and worn components.
- Print-quality problems: under-extrusion, layer shifts, adhesion failures, stringing and dimensional error.
- Calibration & setup: bed leveling, Z-offset, extrusion calibration, temperatures and slicer profiles.
- Preventive maintenance: cleaning, lubrication, inspection and production-readiness testing.

$125 Diagnostic + First Hour
The $125 diagnostic fee (before tax) covers hands-on diagnosis and up to the first hour of repair labor. This payment is required before a repair appointment is scheduled.
$85 / Hour After That
Additional labor is billed in 30-minute increments, plus parts when needed.
We Tell You When It Isn’t Worth It
If repair cost no longer makes sense for the value of the machine, we tell you before running up unnecessary labor.
How repair works
- Request repair and payment instructions. Tell us the printer make and model and what the machine is doing. Failed prints, photos and error messages help.
- Pay the $125 diagnostic fee plus applicable tax before booking. Contact Alt 3D to arrange payment. Sending an inquiry does not reserve a time slot.
- Arrange your drop-off after payment. Once payment is received, we schedule your available Monday–Friday appointment between 11 AM and 4 PM.
- We diagnose the root cause. We test the machine instead of guessing at parts.
- We contact you before major additional work.
- We test-print whenever practical. The goal is a printer that reliably produces parts again.

Do I need an appointment?
Yes. Repair drop-offs are scheduled Monday through Friday from 11 AM to 4 PM, after the $125 diagnostic payment plus applicable tax has been received.
Can I reserve a repair appointment without paying?
No. Payment is required before we schedule or confirm a repair drop-off. Contact us for payment instructions. A phone call, email or contact-form inquiry does not reserve an appointment.
What should I bring?
Bring the printer, power supply and proprietary accessories needed to operate it. Failed prints, photos and error messages can speed diagnosis.
When can I pick up a completed repair?
Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 5 PM after Alt 3D confirms your machine is ready.
