BUILD. TEST. CHANGE IT.
Rapid Prototyping in New Mexico
The screen says it works. The prototype gets a vote too.

Find the problem while changing it is still cheap.
A prototype can reveal fit problems, awkward geometry, assembly issues and assumptions that are hard to see on a screen. Additive manufacturing makes it practical to produce an iteration, learn from it and revise the design before committing to expensive production decisions.
Tell us what the prototype needs to prove. A visual model, an enclosure fit check and a functional test part may need different materials and preparation. We print the agreed model; testing it in your application remains part of your development process.
Three things a screen cannot settle
Fit
Does it actually mate with the hardware, opening, enclosure or assembly it was designed around?
Function
Can you operate it, assemble it and expose weak points before production? Test conditions should suit the prototype material and agreed purpose.
Feel
Scale, grip, reach, clearances and proportions become easier to judge once the idea is physical.
The iteration loop
- Define what the prototype needs to prove.
- Prepare or revise the CAD.
- Print the physical iteration.
- Evaluate it in the intended application.
- Change what did not work and repeat only as needed.
Because Alt 3D can support both design and printing, feedback does not have to bounce between unrelated vendors. Each revision and print run is scoped before work begins.
Start with the question, not just the file.
Send your model or sketch, intended dimensions, test objective, quantity and deadline. Include the mating hardware or reference measurements that affect fit. Alt 3D is based in Rio Rancho, serving Albuquerque and New Mexico customers, with shipping discussed for suitable projects.
We provide printed prototypes and separately scoped CAD support. Painting, metal casting, on-site installation and product certification are not included in a printing quote.
Rapid prototyping FAQ
Do I need a finished design?
No. If the concept still needs CAD work, we can scope design and prototyping together.
Does the prototype need the final production material?
Not always. The correct prototype depends on what you are testing. A model used to check shape does not necessarily demonstrate the strength of the eventual production part.
Can you make several design versions?
Yes. Comparing variants physically can help you make a design decision. Identify the versions clearly and tell us the quantities of each.
