Custom Fabrication in New Mexico

If you can explain it, sketch it, model it or bring us something to work from, we can review how to turn it into a 3D-printed part.

Custom 3D-printed project produced by Alt 3D in New Mexico

We like the jobs that do not fit neatly in a catalog.

Alt 3D is a Rio Rancho shop focused on custom fabrication through 3D printing. We work with New Mexico businesses, exhibit teams, designers, organizations and inventors who need a physical object that does not exist yet or is difficult to source.

Our role is the printed part. We supply models, components and display pieces, not a turnkey installation service. Painting, metal casting and on-site installation are not services we provide.

What we fabricate

  • Branded displays & dimensional elements for retail, events, exhibits and interior environments.
  • Custom components & replacement parts when standard products do not solve the problem.
  • Prototypes & proof-of-concept models for testing form, fit and function.
  • Architectural models & presentation pieces that turn digital concepts into physical communication tools.
  • Short-run production for specialized quantities.

Real Alt 3D work: printed pieces used at Albuquerque’s River of Lights. Explore the Blake’s Lotaburger case study.

The sweet spot: strange geometry, low quantities and custom requirements.

Traditional tooling can be hard to justify when you need twelve parts, when every piece is different, or when the shape itself is difficult to tool. Digital fabrication lets us approach those jobs differently.

For businesses

Fixtures, replacement components, branded objects, display pieces, production aids and low-volume parts.

For exhibit & event teams

Dimensional graphics, oversized forms and unusual visual elements supplied for your team to finish and install.

For inventors & designers

Prototype iterations and the bridge between an idea on a screen and something you can hold.

Design and printing can happen together.

Our 3D design and CAD services can help develop the geometry, while printed prototypes give you something to evaluate in the real world. Design work and printing are defined in the quote before production.

Our process

  1. Define the result. Tell us what the printed object needs to do.
  2. Design for printing. Review existing files or develop printable geometry.
  3. Prototype when useful. Review critical fit, appearance or assembly details.
  4. Print the components. Manufacture and prepare parts within the agreed scope.
  5. Deliver. Arrange pickup or shipping for suitable projects. Your team handles painting and installation.

Custom fabrication FAQ

Do I need a CAD file before contacting you?

No. A sketch, photograph, physical reference or clear explanation can be enough to start.

Can you build one-off projects?

Yes. One-offs, prototypes and low quantities are exactly where custom 3D printing can make sense. We review the model and intended use before confirming feasibility.

Can you make very large objects?

Large objects can often be printed in multiple sections. The quote defines the supplied parts and any preparation; final assembly outside that scope, painting and installation are handled by your team.

Have something strange to build?

Good. Send the idea, dimensions, reference photos or files and tell us what the printed object needs to accomplish.
